Recently, through the wonders of cyberspace, I have met a fellow colleague and writing partner. His name is Luigi Monteferrante and he used to live in Montreal Canada, but has moved to Vasto Marina in the Abruzzi region of Italy. He owns and operates a beautiful medieval villa turned bed and breakfast mere steps from the beautiful Adriatic.
The suite is geared for writers and the cost is very reasonable. Inspiration from the sun and sea are free. Workshops and tours are also available through Villa Monteferrante.
Luigi is currently working on a Canadian tour showcasing his many talents in writing and poetry. I'll update my blog accordingly once he can give me some dates and locations for his appearances.
Luigi shares with me a strong interest in World War II battles that severely impacted the Abruzzi region and where our Canadian troops succeeded in chasing the Germans away. Once our schedule permits, we have agreed to work on an anthology of stories depicting life during this tragic era.
In the next year or two, I am planning a research expedition to this very area of Italy and Villa Monteferrante is where I will stay. More pictures and information is available at www.villamonteferrante.com. Anyone want to join me?
