Mad and brutal. Your book sounds fascinating, not only for the story of lost identity and the Romanov legend but also the setting of Shanghai in the 1920s. An intriguing mix.Elisabeth Storrshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02808281191985275826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7660357194650222850.post-28454159757622364772012-06-18T20:21:44.263-06:002012-06-18T20:21:44.263-06:00Great post Colin. If I'm not mistaken I remember reading a newspaper article over a decade ago which stated that once the Royal family were shot dead, the bones in their bodies were broken with rifle butts and then burned (albeit not very efficiently). Their charred remains were subsequently buried and reburied in two other locations before being found near Ekaterinburg. As for Anna Anderson, I always felt bad for her... it's tough when you're that removed from the world.Bethyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01947604118316614159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7660357194650222850.post-26810670192266978052012-06-17T15:19:49.488-06:002012-06-17T15:19:49.488-06:00I think that if someone does not who they are then...I think that if someone does not who they are then their life may not ne worth living. The role of individual in life is what life is, and if you do not have your individual, then you do not really have life. You are going through the motions.
